Ms. GoKool

Dear Parents,

Welcome to first grade at Lattie Coor School. I am looking forward to being your child’s first grade teacher and getting to know you and your family this year. It is important that we keep the lines of communication open throughout the school year.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns that you might have and I will plan to do the same.  We’ll work together to make your child’s first grade year a terrific one.

First grade is a year filled with fun and huge leaps in learning. First graders develop fundamental work habits, appropriate social behavior, problem solving and decision making skills and of course academic skills.

If you are interested in specific academic standards for first grade, you are invited to visit the Arizona Department of Education State Standards:

http://www.azed.gov/standards-practices/

For many children this is the first time that they will be away from home all day.  Be prepared for your little one to come home tired at the beginning of the school year.

It takes them a little while to adjust to their new schedule, but soon they will love first grade as I do.

I will do my best to get your child home safely each day.  If your child is going home a different way than they usually do, please let me know ASAP.

Please see our suggested first grade supply list for this school year!

Looking forward to meeting both students and parents on Meet the Teacher Night

Thursday, August 1 from 5:30-7:00p.m.
